Vivekananda Kendra Shiksha Prasar Vibhag (VKSPV) strives to facilitate nationalistic education in Northeast India with a cultural mooring.  It is an educational project of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari (VKK), a spiritually-oriented service organization. With the objective of ‘Man Making-Nation Building’ envisaged by the great Patriot Saint Swami Vivekananda, VKSPV administers the Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas (VKVs) of Assam and Nagaland.  It is presently extending educational support to 5 more Vidyalayas in Assam. Presently VKSPV has in its fold 20 Vidyalayas (19 in Assam and 1 in Nagaland), the most recent addition being Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Sadiya (District: Tinsukia). All these Vidyalayas are co-educational and follow CBSE curriculum. Among these 4 VKVs are financed by various government enterprises, 3 of them—at Bokuloni, Umrangso and Doyang—by North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO), and the other at Baragolai by North Eastern Coalfields (NEC). A total of 10294 students are receiving education in the VKVs that have presently 476 teachers and 171 non-teaching staff.
